Born in Rockingham County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Grace Hensley. She was the wife of John Robert Coppersmith. She was a sales representative of the Avon Company for 47 years and was a member of the Ladies' uxiliary of the Hampstead Voluteer Fire Co. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist, the United Methodist Women, and the Friendship Class of the church. Surviving in addition to her husband are sons Russell Hensley of Hampstead and Richard Coppersmith of Westminster; daughters Shirley Boczek of Westminster and Virginia Gessel of Manchester; sisters Ada Poole of Hampstead, Elsie Steger of Manchester, and Christine Gouker of Hanover, Pa.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Eline Funeral Home, 934 s. Main St., Hampstead, with the Rev. Ira Barr officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
