Boas, 52, died of natural causes Wednesday at 6:55 p.m. in his residence at 918 Locust St. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Frank C. and Minnie R. (Stuber) Boas. Boas was employed as a saelsman by J. C. Penney Co., Inc., Muhlenberg Township, last working Tuesday. He served 16 years in the Coast Guard, retiring as a chief hospital corpsman in 1981. Boas was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading. He was a Coast Guard veteran of the Vietnam War. Boas received an associate of arts degree in psychology from Reading Area Community College in 1983. Surviving are a son, Christopher P., Reading; two brothers, Robert, Maysville, Ga., and Frank C., New Hope, Bucks County; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, John J. Boas. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery.
