  [S1] Newspaper Clipping, 18 Jun 1940, The News-Chronicle (Shippensburg). Mrs. Jane Caldwell [sic] Johnston, 71, of Norfolk, Virginia, wife of Southey S. Wilkins and former teacher in the Shippensburg public school, died Friday evening following a long illness. Mrs. Wilkins was born in Shippensburg, daughter of the late John E. and Isabel Phillips Johnston. For a number of years she taught in the primary grades of teh public school here. After her marriage to Mr. Wilkins, she made her home on the eastern shore of Maryland, but Mr. And Mrs. Wilkins had lived in Norfolk for the past 18 years. Surviving are Mr. Wilkins and a sister, Mrs. Clarence W. Holland, of Eastville, Virginia. Among cousins surviving are Mrs. Frederick Truscott, Mrs. Mervin Robinson, Hugh Craig and Harper Craig, all of Shippensburg. Funeral services were held at the graveside in Mahogany Lawn cemetery, Eastville, Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. S. K. Emurian of the First Presbyterian Church in Eastville.
