  [S1] Newspaper Clipping, 25 Jan 1967, The News. New Windsor Man Found Dead The death of a 38-year-old New Windsor man was ruled suicide today by the Carroll County Medical Examiner. Gene Arthur Bloom was found by his wife at home shortly after 5 p.m. Monday. He was pronounced dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Bloom was reported as being despondent due to ill health. Born in Carroll County, a son of Anna Jenkins aBloom, and the late William PrestonBloom, Sr. he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rita Grove Bloom, one daughter Joann Bloom, at home; one step-son. Roy Lee Singer, U. S. Navy; one sister, Mrs. Beverly Shorb; Fairfield, Pa., and one brother, William Preston Bloom, Jr., of New Windsor. He was a member if St. Paul's Methodist Church in New Windsor and the VFW Post No. 8806 of Union Bridge. He was employed by Congeleum Nairn Company and was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army in Germany.
