  [S1] Newspaper Clipping, 5 Feb 1886, Harrisburg Telegraph. mrs. Eliza S. Boyd, widow of the late James R. Boyd, died at her residence, No. 131 South Second street, this morning, after a long illness, in her 85th years. The funeral will take place on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Boyd's maiden name was Miss Eliza Sloan, a sister of Alexander Sloan, Esq., and was born in New York, coming here in early life with her parents. She was married to James R. Boyd, at the time a cabinet maker, who died some years ago. Of her children, there survice: P. K. Boyd, Geo. W. Boyd, James R. Boyd, and Miss Maria Boyd, of this city, and Mrs. Eliza Murphy, of Philadelphia. Mrs. Boyd was a member of the Market Square Presbyterian church for many years, and all her life was an earnest sincere Christian. She was a woman of great energy, kind, charitable and well-beloved, and none will mourn her more than those who knew her best as friend and counselor.
